Every time I have a new job, I ask the people I share the work space with for help. I never know what they are planning or doing. Sometimes they ask me, “How are you doing today?” and I reply, “I’m fine.
Well, my colleagues are doing a lot of things at the same time. I don’t know what they are doing or planning, but they do. I just don’t know what they are doing.
I don’t mean this in a negative way, and neither should you. It’s actually the exact opposite. Yes, it’s nice to be the one person in the office who does all the work. But you’re also the one person who needs to be getting help. And that’s what teammates can be like. They can help you out. They can help you find hidden solutions. They can be your partners for the long haul.
